this crazy hobby of mine for the past six years.
On a whim, a friend and I decided to take a Wilton cake decorating class at Michael's Craft Store. After the four week class was over, my friend was done....I, however, was bit by the bug....the cake decorating bug.
For Christmas that year, I gave my husband a Wilton Yearbook and circled supplies that I wanted. I told him to get whatever he wanted that was circled. He got everything! OK, so he won husband points that year.
I did my first fondant covered cake for our annual New Years Eve party one week later. It made me want to cry! But I kept trying, and practicing, and trying.....and, well, you get the point.
When I first started, my daughter would flip through a cake magazine and say things like, "Mom, you could never do this cake," or, "that one is way out of your league." She was brutally honest for a seven year old - but she was so right.
Fast forward six years later, this hobby has grown into an obsession. I strive to learn and teach myself new techniques and decorating skills. My goal is to one day open my own shop and serve Stacey Cakes to all of my adoring fans! hahaha Until then, please come back to my web site from time to time to see the latest cake I've done for my kids, friends and family.
